Derek Lowe established himself as a truly impressive pitcher with the Boston Red Sox. In 2000, he was one of the game’s top closers and his performance earned him an All Game selection. His success in 2002 as a starter included a return to the All-Star Game as well as a third place finish in the Cy Young voting. Lowe was named the winning pitcher of the clinching game in the 2004 World Series. He later on, also, led the National League in wins in 2006 as a member of the Los Angeles Dodgers. Lowe has participated in several “Sox Talks” with youth groups throughout the Boston area and is an avid supporter of the Junior Achievement Program.
