Christian Fauria

Christian Fauria was born in Harbor City, California and attended Crespi Carmelite High School in Encino, California. Fauria played football, track, and basketball in high school with football being his main sport as his played tight end. Fauria was team captain his senior year, a first team All-Del Rey League honoree, team’s most valuable player, and a first team All-CIF honoree. After high school, Fauria continued his football career at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Fauria was a first team All-Big 8 choice, a third team Associated Press All American choice, and winner of the Derek Singleton Award which is an award that goes to the player who displays the most enthusiasm, dedication and spirit.
Fauria was selected in the 1995 NFL Draft by the Seattle Seahawks with the 39th pick. Fauria would go on to play 7 seasons for the Seahawks in which he had 166 receptions and 7 touchdowns during his time with the Seahawks. After playing for the Seahawks, Fauria went to play for the New England Patriots for four seasons, where he won two Super Bowl rings in back-to-back years 2004 and 2005. After four seasons for the Patriots, Fauria played one year for the Washington Redskins and then one year for the Carolina Panthers. Fauria finished his 13-year playing career with 252 receptions, 2,529 receiving yards and 22 touchdowns.
After his playing career, Fauria joined the sports commenting world, serving as a college football studio analyst for ESPN and currently serves as a college football analyst for the CBS Sports Network. Fauria is also part of an afternoon show for WEEI called Merloni, Fauria & Mego which features former Boston Red Sox infielder Lou Merloni and former Boston Herald columnist Meghan Ottolini. The show airs weekdays from 2-6pm.
