In Memoriam: Luis Tiant
Red Sox Hall of Famer
Luis Tiant played 19 Major League seasons primarily with the Cleveland Indians and Boston Red Sox. Tiant came to the Red Sox from Cleveland in 1971, and in 1972 he led the league with a 1.91 ERA and received the AL Comeback Player of the Year Award. From 1972-1978, Tiant averaged 17 wins per season and was named to the All-Star team twice. In 1997, Tiant was inducted into the Boston Red Sox Hall of Fame.
