Steve Nelson

Steve Nelson played his entire career for the New England Patriots and was inducted into their Hall of Fame in 1993.   Nelson recorded a career total of 1,776 tackles, an average of 10.2 per game, and led the Patriots in tackles in eight (8) of his fourteen (14) seasons.  He was a three-time Pro-Bowl selection and is credited with having helped his team make five playoff appearances, the 1985 AFC Championship and Super Bowl XX in 1986.  Nelson was also named NFL Man of the Year three times.  After his career ended, he became a football analyst on local TV and radio.
