Amanda Pelkey was the first ever player to sign with the Boston Pride in the NWHL. Pelkey started her hockey career in the Junior Women’s Hockey League playing for Team USA in the Women’s World U18 Championship. Winning gold medals at the age of 16, Amanda continued on to play for the University of Vermont Catamounts. During her time at UVM, Pelkey set single-season records in goals and points along with tying for two school records. She graduated Vermont as the all-time leader with 49 goals, 56 assists and 105 points. After graduating, Amanda was selected for the first NWHL All-Star Game in 2016. In 2016 and 2017 she clenched two gold medals for Team USA at the IIHF World Women’s Championship. Pelkey just competed in the 2018 Winter Olympics, taking home gold for Team USA once again.
