Whether he was playing shortstop or third base, Rico Petrocelli was a staple in the Boston Red Sox infield for thirteen (13) seasons for his powerful hitting and great defensive play. He was a large part of the 1967 and 1975 teams that won the American League Championship and was a two (2) time All Star. Petrocelli was inducted into the Red Sox Hall of Fame in 1997. Beyond the baseball field, Petrocelli worked in broadcasting as well as managing, where he was the manager for numerous minor league teams. Rico Petrocelli also authored the book Rico Petrocelli’s Tales from the Impossible Dream Red Sox - a book that details his 1967 season with the Red Sox.
