Bill Lee

Red Sox Hall of Famer

For 14 years, Bill Lee was a great pitcher who intrigued players and fans alike. Lee was selected to the American League All-Star squad in 1973 and pitched in the World Series in 1975. Lee was called “Spaceman,” a nickname that a former Red Sox teammate gave him to describe his free spirit. In 2008, Lee was inducted into the Boston Red Sox Hall of Fame as the team’s record-holder for most games pitched by a left-hander (321) and holds the third highest win total by a Red Sox left-hander with 94. Lee still has a huge following in New England and is one of the most popular Red Sox Players of all time.
