Brad Park

Brad Park is a member of the Hockey Hall of Fame. He was born in Toronto in 1948. In the 1966 NHL Amateur draft, he was drafted 2nd in the first round by the New York Rangers. In 1968, he began playing with the Rangers, and quickly became the Rangers’ best defenseman. He even began to draw comparisons to the great Bobby Orr. In 1972, Park led his team to the the Stanley Cup finals, and was runner-up for the Norris Trophy. In 1975, in one of the biggest trades of that era, Park was traded to Boston. Park was able to continue his great success in Boston. While in Boston, he came in second in the Norris Trophy race twice, and played in two Stanley Cup finals. In 1983, he scored a famous overtime goal to beat the Buffalo Sabres in the seventh game of their playoff seires. The following season he signed with the Detroit Red Wings and won the Bill Masterton Trophy for perseverance. In 1985, Park retired as the leading defense scorer in Ranger’s history, and the second leading defense scorer in Bruins’ (and NHL) history. In 1988, Park ranked 49th on The Hockey News’ list of the 100 Greatest Hockey players.
