A native of Walpole, MA, Chris Wagner signed with the Bruins prior to the 2018-19 season. Since joining the NHL, he has earned the reputation as one of the league’s most physical players. He finished the 2017-18 season third in the league in total hits, with 253. During the 2019 Stanley Cup Playoffs, he demonstrated his toughness by blocking a slap shot that broke his wrist, but ultimately sealed the win for the Bruins and helped propel them to the Stanley Cup Finals. In his first season with the Bruins, he was awarded the NESN 7th Player Award, which recognizes a Bruins player who fans think has exceeded expectations.
