Daniel Paille is a Stanley Cup champion and former NHL forward known for his speed, defensive responsibility and ability to perform in important postseason moments. His work ethic and team-first approach made him a valued member of the Boston Bruins during one of the franchise’s most successful modern eras.
Selected 20th overall by the Buffalo Sabres in the 2002 NHL Draft, Paille played 11 NHL seasons and appeared in 582 regular-season games with Buffalo, Boston and the New York Rangers. He joined the Boston Bruins in 2009 and became a key contributor on the penalty kill. In 2011, he helped Boston defeat the Vancouver Canucks and capture its first Stanley Cup championship in 39 years.
Paille returned to the Stanley Cup Final with the Bruins in 2013, scoring the overtime winner in Game 2 against the Chicago Blackhawks and the deciding goal in Game 3. Following his playing career, he moved into coaching, working with the Canisius University men’s hockey program before joining the Niagara IceDogs as an assistant coach.
